Nail Rock Nail Wraps in Tribal Gold

This is the first time that I had tried nail wraps! After putting the very first wrap on my nail I was immedietely impressed! The effect is amazing, and looks like you had your nails professionally done. It did not take too long at all to apply. It took me slightly longer because I decided to use false nails underneath because my true length was too short.

These wraps come with instructions, an acetone wipe, nail file and wooden hoof stick. Basically the kit provides you with EVERYTHING. These wraps are easy to use and the instructions are very clear, however if you do not achieve perfect results on your first try, don't worry because a little practise is needed to get the hang of using these! What I found was that these wraps where too long for even my false nails, so cutting them down with scissors just ruined them slightly. Therefore I would recommend having nails that are the same length as the wraps or that you be patient and practise the art that is nail wraps.

I believe that having that patience will pay off in the end because the results really are remarkable.

I purchased mine from Topshop and Boots. They where £6.65. Are they easier than nail varnish??? For me they are because you literally just pop them on your nail, however I believe it takes practise to achieve the result that you see on the box, or that you are happy with.

I reccomend this for those of you who love unique nails, and who are patient enough to keep at them! I bought my second lot of nail wraps today from Nail Rock in the design Red and Gold Metallic Moon....fingers crossed!!!

Barry M Magnetic Burgandy Nail Polish

Today I found an amazing gem in Boots!! It is this beautiful Magnetic Nail Polish by Barry M in the colour Burgandy! As you can see from the pictures that it creates a Magnetic effect to your nails. If I had to discribe this Nail Varnish in one word it would have be astonishing. It is astonishing how easy, fast and beautiful the effect is. I love it when your nails look professionally done, and I believe this product does just that!

This polish come sin four colours: Purple, Dark Silver, Burgandy and Blue. Each polish is unique because they each have a different magnetic pattern. I chose the Burgandy one because I thought the colour looked the prettiest, as you can see is co-modelled by my friend Laura! The effect came out great and it was easy to do.
It is the magnet on top of the lid that creates the effect. To create this look you first apply a base coat of clear polish or sometimes I use nail strengthener because my nails are very weak. Then apply one caot of Magnetic polish and let it dry. Apply a second coat on top, and while it is still wet place the magnet over the nail, but make sure the magnet doesnt touch your nail (as it will smudge!). Leave the magnet there for 5 seconds and lift to marvel at your amazing creation! I then apply clear varish on top just to make the polish last longer and help prevent chipping!

I bought these varnishes from Boots for £4.99. They can be bought at any Barry M counter on the High Street. Im not sure about Barry M internationally Im afraid. However if you do want to check them out then the website is http://www.barrym.com/products/product.asp?id=168. I may do my first Give Away with these polishes, Im between two products right now to give away, so if you follow me on Twitter (@RebeccaBewick) I shall keep you posted of when it will be and what the Give Away is!

I do reccommend these polishes for those of you just love interesting looking nails and who enjoy nail art. However if this seems a little dramatic I suggest using this Polish on one of your nails and then painting the others a subtle colour. In this situation I would reccommend a nude cream or Gold. It is your choice and your freedom to experiment!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

This palette has been on the top of my must-have list for a really long time!! It embodies 12 beautiful, matte and shimmery eyeshadows that all blend together beautifully and easily. This palette is the sequal to the original Naked palette (which is in the mail to me as we speak!).

These shadows come in a long and sturdy tin, and includes a mirror on the inside lid, 12 beautiful shadows all with unique and quirky names and a double ended applicator brush. My palette also came with a little Lip Junkie in the colour Naked which is a great lip-plumping gloss that tastes like peppermint! The colours included in the palette are as follows on my swatch picture bottom to top:

  • Foxy - A matte, flesh colour. Perfect Highlighter for the underneath the brow. This is not on my swatch picture because it literally is the same colour as my skin and you would not be able to see it!
  • HalfBaked - Light Shimmery Gold Colour. Perfect on its own or blended with a darker shade from this palette.
  • BootyCall - Shimmery Nude Colour. I love this as an all over lid base, with Tease through the socket and black liner for an Adele inspired look.

BootyCall and Tease

  • Chooper - A shimmery Copper Bronze Colour. Im wearing this as a base today with Tease through the socket, but it still looks good on its own and take underneath the eye (See picture). Also during my make over at Urban Decay in Cardiff, this colour was used as a BLUSH!! It looked amazing aswell.

Chopper and Tease

  • Tease - Matte Light Brown. This colour is great for creatig thaqt natural shadow in the socket of your eye. It goes with any colour in the palette. The sky is the limit.
  • Snakebite - Dark shimmery Gold. I love wearing this all over the lid and then using Tease through the socket!
  • Suspect - Brown with gold shimmer. Yet again great on its own or put through the socket  of another, lighter colour from this palette.
  • Pistol - Shimmery Grey that looks metallic. Beautiful on its own but can be used to create beautiful smoke alongside Blackout!

Pistol and Blackout

  • Verve - Light Brown with Silver Shimmer. Beautiful on its own again but blended with Pistol in the socket and outter corners would create a great day time beautiful smokey look.
  • YDK - Very shimmery Bronze. Wear this on its own or with a lighter colour. Id put this through the socket and blended out at the outter corners to give your makeup a bit of an edge!
  • Busted - Dark shimmery Brown. Wear on its own or again with a lighter colour in this palette. I reccomend it with BootyCall for an edgy day time look.
  • Blackout - Matte Black. Use with Pistol for a clascic smokey eye or with Verve. You could use this as a liner for all the colours if you want.
Pistol and Blackout

I reccommend this palette highly to anyone who loves makeup and experimenting with makeup! It would make an amazing gift. It can be used for day looks, night looks even wedding looks!! This is the most excited I have ever been about a product, and righly so because it is very hard to go wrong with this palette. For 12 shadows, this palette is good value for money. Im SO in love with this product I bought the first naked palette this morning. If there is a Naked 3 palette comming out soon I put my name on the list for it straight away!

I got this palette from Debenhams in Cardiff, but you can get it anywhere with an Urban Decay counter. Obviously you can get these off the internet! I reccommend buying this palette from www.beautybaycosmetics/urbandecay/nakedpalette2/.com as postage is WORLDWIDE (even South Africa) and it's postage is free! Also when I followed them on twitter  (@beautybay) I got 10% off your order, so that is worth checking out!

If you want to read more reviews about this product then the Uran Decay website is worth checking out too: http://www.urbandecay.com/Naked-2-Palette-by-Urban-Decay/282,default,pd.html?start=1&cgid=9999&prefn1=isBestSeller&prefv1=true

....beauty with an edge? I would definetely say so!

Maybelline New York Colour Sensational Popsticks

Not your average looking lipstick you say? You are right it is even better!! This lipstick reminds me of a friend of mine who does not like wearing lipstick, because these Popsticks feel nothing like lipstick. A lipstick gives a colour, whereas these popsticks gives back your natural colour! I would discribe this product as a way of providing your lips with a natural tint by enhancing your natural pout pigment.

The actual colour that this Lipstick gives is translucent, but the liquid pigments in the formula adapt to your lips natural colour, but it takes it slightly further by evening out the colour of your lips. They smell great! The colour that I have is 010 Pink Sugar. It has a nice fruity smell.

The packaging reminds me of a neon rave, which I think is good because when a lipstick is deep in the abyss of your huge bag, you want the packaging to be able to stand out so you can easily find it. I think this particular lipstick is good for the summer because I found it conditions my lips aswell as filing out their natural colour. Also when the weather is hot, a sticky lipgloss can sometimes feel a bit too much and heavy, so this product would be the perfect alternative!

If you do feel lost without your gloss then a lipgloss over this product is fine. I would go for a clear gloss, as your natural shade will still be on show. Or maybe a touch of balm if you find your lips need more hydration. The skies the limit here - this product is versatille. There are 5 different colours to choose from.

I purchased this product from Boots. I was unable to find this product on Maybellines website, for some strange reason. However the link to Boots is below so check it out if you like it! I reccommend this lipstick for 2 reasons:
1. It is not a lipstick, or lipgloss so try something different :)
2. You cannot go wrong with natural and beautiful lips :)

Avon 24 Karat Gold Blush Duo

This has to be one of the PRETTIEST blushers I have ever used!! It is encompassess two shimmery gold blushes that are light and dark pink in tone. Blended together with a blush brush, they create this beautiful light pink! I reccomend this blush for those who like wearing a blush that crates an English Rose look. This is because the pink that both colours create is a delicate one. I even reccomend this for Brides and Bridesmaids because the shimmer in this blush, gives the illusion of a healthy glow to your cheeks, but very subtly. It is not until the light comes into contact with this blush, you can see the shimmer.

Avon reccomend this product to be used to higlight and contour your cheeks. I certainly agree with the highlight aspect because this blush is packed with stunning gold shimmer, however I do beleive a dab of this is perfect just on the apples of your cheeks. Its such a pretty blush, I believe it should be hidden in the corners of your cheek bones.

I throughly believe this blush is the best that I have bought lately and I definetly believe it is suitable for everyone!

Rimmel London Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow in Sun Safari

I have never owned an eyeshadow by Rimmel London before, so I thought that this Quad would be the perfect first time try of what the brand has to offer. I decided on the palette Sun Safari because I thought these colours would suit everyone, and that it would be perfect for the Summer! Rimmel London also have 8 other palettes that vary in shades, so I suggest that you should check them out as there is a good choice of colours! On the back of these palettes Rimmel London say what colour eyes they think will suit the palette in hand. For Sun Safari, Rimmel London reccomend it for Blue Eyes, but I do beleive that any colour eye will be able to carry this colour off just as well!

Each palette comes with a double ended sponge applicator. I do prefer to use brushes with this product because it is easier to blend as you go, rather than switching to these sponges. I find that they just get in the way! Do not be alarmed when you first see this palette and think OMG how do I use it, because there is a guide on the back, that has numbered each of the individual colours. The numbers are then mapped out as a visual aid.

For the look I achieved I used the bottom colour as an all over base, going up to the brow bone. Then I applied the left colour all over the lid. Then blended the right colour half way accross my lid and slightly through the eye crease, then really blended it out. Then I placed the top darkest colour on the outter corner of my lids and blended slightly through the socket too. I also used the top dark colour to line and define my eye. As a tip I would suggest using a kohl with this look on the water line. I used a brown kohl which is also by Rimmel London (but any brown kohl will do the job fine!). The back of this palette has suggested a turquoise liner, which just proves that you can really experiment and enhance this looks as much as you prefer! I then took the bottom colour and placed it under the brown bone and in the corner of my eye. This lightens the eye and gives the illusion that they are bigger.

This quad is good value for money and it does give you a nice look to the eye. You can really experiment with the four colours provided. Good product and I do reccomend this to EVERYONE of EVERY EYE COLOUR! :) ...It is what you make of it!

Estée Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Baby

If you are tired of lipsticks that dry out your lips and do not last long, then I highly reccomend Estée Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Crystal Lipsticks! So where do I begin?!

This lipstick I find to be unique. It stands out from others on the market because it smells fantastic! It does not have that typical lipstick smell, which I think is refreshing! The formula itself is very kind to lips. It contains the perfect lip TLC with its apricot kernal, shea butter and murumuru butter. This lipstick is creamy.

The colour I personally use is Crystal Baby because the colour is similar to my own natural lip colour. It is a pretty peachy pink, that leaves a stunning shine. What is great about these lipsticks is that you can build up the colour as much as you want to by applying more. It also lasts in the day. I do not have to do as many touch ups with this lipstick, compared ot others, which I think is something us girls appreciate! I love wearable lipstick shades to wear during the day, I find that this colour ticks that box!

The packaging is typical Estée Lauder. A gold lid, with the famous 'EL' logo proudly emblazed on its front!

This lipstick comes in 17 colours, so there is plenty to choose from! I got mine from Debenhams about 6 months ago and I am getting another in the colour Blazing Honey or Crystal Pink...I shall have to do some more swatches first!

Beautiful lipsticks by Estée Lauder! I encourage you to try :)

Jemma Kidd Make Up School Dewy Glow Radiance Crème in Iced Gold

This is the first product that I have ever bought by Jemma Kidd Make Up School and after trying this product, it will not be the last time I ever shop there!

As you can probably guess this Radiance Crème is a highlighter. However you would be fooled because it isnt just a highlighter, it can be mixed with foundation, it can be put on between a primer and foundation. Or if you want it to be - worn on bare skin! Jemma Kidd encourages experimentation with her products, because they are so versatile. Either way this product gives immediate illuminosity to your skin which leaves it looking healthy and glowing.
Im not brave enough to go bare skin I'm afraid! However I do place this product on the tops of my cheeks and a touch on the brow bone, just to give the skin lift and a subtle glow. This product doesnt dry out skin, it is moisturing because its formula contains jojoba oil. I believe it suits all skin types. The product that I got for myself is in the colour Iced Gold. It is a nice nude colour with golden shimmer to it. I recon this product is good for paler skin. I reccommend this product in the colour Rose Gold for darker skin.

The packaging is so sleek and discrete. Its perfect for carrying around in a makeup kit or even your handbag because it is so light. It comes with a handy makeup lesson containing tips on how to apply this product. So if you want a really reliable, quirky and I really do think professional product then this is for you.

You can buy this on her website (https://shop.jemmakidd.com/cms/cms.jsp?menu_id=7954) but I bought mine off Beauth Bay because it had free postage and packaging worldwide! http://www.beautybay.com/cosmetics/jemmakiddmakeupschool/

I think a foundation from Jemma Kidd Make Up School is next on my wish list!

Many thanks for reading!

Benefit Creaseless Cream in Birthday Suit and Eyeshadow in Raining Men

I went for another make up lesson in Benefit the other day with my friends and I just HAD to show you the results and the products I got. I went to the Benefit counter in Swansea Debenhams if anyone was wondering. I throughly reccomend them because the girls are all so nice and actually want to teach you how to apply these products. They give great advise about makeup and skincare. I have already booked another appointment for after finals! If you regularly read my blog you will know that Benefit (besides Chanel) is my favourite makeup brand. I asked for a dramatic eye, that was different, and a nude lip. And here is the finished eye look! I hope you like it as much as I do.

The products used on ym eyes where a primer (Stay Dont Stray) and Benefit's Creaseless Cream in Birthday Suit and Eyeshadow in Raining Men. I never use cream shadows and Im kicking myself now as to why not! The cream I found to last a lot longer and didnt give me that heavy feel that I expected to have. It really complemented the eyeshadow well. The cream I found did not crease and helped prolong the eyeshadow that was blended in to it. These two colours worked really well together.

For the final touches, A grey kohl lined my eyes to give them more definition. Also Benefit's They're Real mascara was used (which I recently blogged about if you click on the link). Overall I was os impressed I could not leave these two shadows behind!!

As for the colours of the shadows themselves, Birthday Suit is a shimmery Bronze colour and when applied and blended onto the eye, it feels like you are wearing nothing. I think that was what sold me this product. Makeup that feels like a mask isnt my thing. Also a colour such as Birthday Suit can be worn alone or with another shadow blended in (like in the photos).

Raining Men is another shimmery colour. It is a Dark Turquoise I would say with Gold shimmer throughout. It is a velvet eyeshadow that found to be just that! Again this shadow is perfect to line your eyes or be worn alone (but seriously blended out). I recon these colours are a match made in heaven so I dont think I could bear to split them up! However do experiment :) Im thinking Birthday Suit with a nice Brown shadow for the day time. I shall have to let you know how that one goes!

I definetely will be purchasing more colours of these products (when the Student Loan comes in!). You can purchase them at any Beenfit counter or online. The Shadow was £13.50 and the Cream was £14.00.

Modelsown Lipgloss in Ballet Pink

This gloss in one word? Frosty! When I say frosty I genuinely mean an icy pink. The colour makes this lipgloss seem delicate, femine and almost too wearable. Just to be quirky this gloss smells like roses!

I have to be honest this is the first product that I have ever worn by ModelsOwn. For a first buy I believe that this was the perfect choice. The colour drew me in straight away! Im a sucker for icy and pastel pinks because I really believe that they are versatile and can be worn day or night.

On the lip this gloss is sheer with a lot of shimmer to it. I reccomend this lipgloss on its own during the day and then to layer it over a lipstick for a night time look, just to give it that omph!

They retail for £5 in Boots (which has a 3 for 2 deal yeay!)

Benefit They're Real! Mascara

I know what you are all thinking, not another Benefit blog, but honestly this brand is my favourite makeup brand. If you are a Benefit virgin then I have three words for you They're Real! Mascara!! So what makes this mascara unique from the rest?? For me it is the brush. The brush has a spikey ball on the end which is perfect for creating a doe-eyed look or a pin up look. The formula is jet black and you do notice a dramatic increase in your lash length and volume, as you can see by my with mascara, without mascara photo. This mascara is so dramatic that I used to save it for nights out, and just use my Bad Gal Lash by Benefit during the day, but I just loved it too much and more or less wear it everyday. I find that the design of the brush lets you be more versatile with how you want yours lashes to turn out.

As for wearability, the mascara has survived many nights out and too many 8 hour shifts, so I cannot fault it there. It is difficult sometimes to remove, it just depends on how liberal you are when applying the mascara. I do believe though if it is easy for you to remove, then the mascara will probably not last as long as you would like. This mascara doesnt dry out your lashes like others do. They dont leave your lashes feel crisp and clumped. I love makeup that looks natural and I firmly believe that this mascara achieves a great medium! In other words they look like false lashes, but they arent! You literally control the length by how you use the brush.

For a nice day time lash just place the mascara brush horizontally on your lashes and coat them until you are satisfied with the length. Then to go further (or to create a night time look) just use the spiky ball on the end of the brush to push them up. Cannot be more simple!

I firmly believe that the photo of the results speak for itself. Any amscara enthusiast would LOVE this. Any Benebabe should have this in thier collection. Everyone I reccomend this product HIGHLY!
