Dior 5 Couleurs Garden Edition in 441 Garden Pastels

Shw mae pawb! I bought this palette back in February as part of Dior’s Spring makeup collection. It was SO hard to find because I waited about a month to buy it, but to my horror everywhere had sold out and I mean EVERYWHERE!! Debenhams, John Lewis, House of Fraser etc. I was lucky to find this colour palette online on Selfridges. Dior released another Garden Palette called Garden Roses, which I also got because I thought I couldn’t get the Garden pastels, but then I found it!

pic.twitter.com/P1QZU6c3This palette is a great depiction of Dior’s love of flowers and the ‘flower woman’ that he created back in 1947. This palette also carries on the romanticism and pastel colour trends for this Springs’ makeup. You can tell that a lot of thought has been put into creating this palette, and it is a nice addition to add for any Dior fan’s makeup collection.
pic.twitter.com/bgR1Nxy7This palette was inspired by nature. It’s 5 shadows each have a rose print, whereas the middle shadow carries the initials CD for Christian Dior. These roses ring a recapture the Dior Haute Couture Rose embellishments. The palette comes with two, two sided sponge applicators, however I do prefer to use my normal shadow brushes to properly place and blend these shadows.

The first colour (bottom left) in the palette looks pale yellow which has some shimmer. It is a nice neutral colour which I used as a base. The colour up from that is green but has an iridescent gold pigment that comes out more when you blend it. Because of the gold in that colour it complements the first colour very well. The bottom right colour is a minty green. For some reason it seems more turquoise as you blend it but it is shimmery and pretty. I use this to shadow my crease to give more definition. The top right colour is kind of a white with a slight green undertone to it. I think it is a nice touch to the palette as a highlight which I have placed under my brows and in the corners of my eyes. The pink in the middle is rosy and shimmery I just place that on top of the colours to soften them. One final thing to add is that shadows all smell like Roses!
All in all, this palette is a real rosy gem especially for those who collect Dior. However, it is expensive for 5 eye shadows, but then again it is a piece of Dior so it is also reasonable I suppose. I would say if you love the colours then this palette is for you, however also if you just love Dior then also this is for you. I find these colours easy to use and wear, but sometimes I do get the feeling that this is just a collector’s item.
Thanks for reading!

NARS Eyeshadow Trio in Douche France

I absolutely love this eyeshadow trio by NARS. Within its typical NARS packaging lays this trio of pretty pinks (I am loving pink make up at the moment, I promise Ill change it up). This I find to be very versatile as it provides a day look that you can easily transform into a night look. The colours vary in spectrum and pigments but together they do conjure a beautiful pastel pink, which is this seasons must.
The product houses three pink shadows. The first shadow (which is the lightest on the left) is a nude colour with a touch of shimmer, which makes it a great highlight for the brow bone. A hint when using a shadow as a highlight; dab some in the corner of your eye to really set of your look because not only does it brighten your eye, it gives the impression that your eyes are slightly wider. You can also use this colour all over the lid (as a base before you put on the second and third shadow). This is entirely up to you!
The middle colour is a very girly, soft, pastel, baby pink. It is an easily wearable shadow. For example you can wear it alone with a slick of black liquid liner, or you could do as I have and swept it all over the lid and then blend the darkest pink into the outer corners.
pic.twitter.com/4JgVkBgx
The last colour (which is the darkest pink) is my favourite. It is a great contrast to the other two and that is what makes this look pop because it complements the other two colours well. It is a plum rose colour that is bordering on wine and is very pigmented. As I said I blend it into the outer corner of my eye, but also I use an angled brush to line my top lash line and halfway across my lower lash line. This adds definition and provides a choice of whether to use a khol liner or not (for this look I used black liner from Barry M).
NARS always delivers great products, and this trio is no exception. I would say don’t be afraid to use such dramatic colours however experiment and see which ones best suit you. I went for the pink trio because I’m quite pale. NARS have trios like this in other colours if you aren’t so fussed on the pink. 10/10 NARS!

Chanel AquaLumire Gloss In the Colour BonBon

Hey everyone today’s blog is about the Chanel Lipgloss, AquaLumire Gloss in the colour BonBon. This gloss is typical Chanel: sophisticated, clean and a luxury product. I would recommend this lipgloss for those of you who hate sticky glosses. I cannot stand it when I am outside and my hair sticks to my lips, I find that this gloss is not as sticky as all the other glosses I have tried.
This gloss is pale pink but with an iridescent gold shimmer. I find this colour to be quite subtle and sheer, because it looks like your natural lip colour – but better! The applicator has a brush wand rather than a sponge wand which I find easier to work with. I sometimes put a gloss over a lipstick, and if I use a sponge wand I find that it is slightly ruined when you use it again because the lip stick is stained. Whereas with this brush you can just wipe it off.

This gloss is pricey, but the results are more satisfactory I believe. I find that I can wear this during the day or night, so I do get a lot of wear out of it. I’m not really one for outstanding and fussy lip colours because I find they don’t suit me much so I always go for nude and natural tones, and I find that this lipgloss colour really does the trick for me. It is my favourite lipgloss that I own. If I could compare it to another gloss it would have to be Maybelline New York’s Coloursensational Cream Gloss in the colour Cashmere Rose. The only difference is the gold undertone, which in the Maybelline gloss there is a silver shimmer undertone but the colours are quite similar otherwise! Or if you love the colour but are not a fan of shimmer there is a Chanel lipgloss in the colour BonBon but in their  Levres Scintillantes Collection. The only difference between these two glosses’ is the amount of shimmer. There is less in the Levres Scintillantes and they are less sheer so you do have more colour on your lips.

Hope you have enjoyed this and sorry I haven’t blogged in a while. Thank you for coming to have a look! Hope you are all well.

Miss Piggy Eyeshadow by MAC...fantastic

Today’s blog is about a Special Edition Eye Shadow by MAC called ‘Miss Piggy’. As you can probably tell this collection is inspired by the Muppet character Miss Piggy. MAC dedicated a collection to the pink heroine due to the opening of the new Muppets film. This collection is no longer being sold by MAC, however you could probably still find this eye shadow on eBay if you keep your eyes peeled. Even though it is no longer available, one feature this season is all about is pastel shades and neon brights. This eye shadow encompasses both in a subtle way... so without further ado here is the review!

The first thing you notice about this shadow is the bright and girly colour pink. Don’t be fooled, this colour isn’t as scary bright as it looks! It is an iridescent pink with a lilac purple undertone. This does make the shadow more pastel than bright. The shadow itself is a frosty shimmer and not matt which I think is really pretty because you don’t need to shade any other colour with it (if you don’t want to). I recon this eye shadow, with liquid liner and huge eye lashes are the trick (kind of like Miss Piggy herself)!  I created this look with the help of my friend Bethan (who I think really liked it). I shall put a picture of the finished look below, however after a bottle of wine I’m afraid the picture quality isn’t as good as it could have but never mind you can kind of see what I mean.
I hope you like this product, and if you can find it then it is worth it. I am very glad this is in my makeup bag (and I think Bethan was aswell lol)

Benefit Smokey Eye Make Up Lesson

As you will soon find out I have a slight obsession with Benefit makeup. Today is another blog about one of their finest pieces. I just came back from an enjoyable and successful makeup lesson with one of the girls in their Swansea counter in Debenhams... and of course I have not come home empty handed! If anyone has a chance to pop in for a makeup lesson, they are very good for tips and answering any makeup related questions you have. Today I asked for a smoky eye look, as you can see by the photos. I absolutely love it. I hardly wear such a dramatic eye purely because I am a bit worried it will be TO dramatic but I thought it was very subtle, clean and sophisticated. So today’s blog is about the ‘Smokin’ Eyes’ eye and brow palette (which I purchased immediately after the lesson).

As you can see from the photo the palette contains all the essentials you would need to create a smoky eye look. There are three eye shadow colours along the top. The one on the left is a pink highlight which you would place underneath the brow bone, the middle is a base shadow in the colour Pewter and the right is a deep Charcoal eye shadow that you place on the outer side of you lid. There is also an eye liner in the colour Smokin’ and an applicator brush. The brush on one side is angled to line your eye along the lash line. Then a fluff brush, on the other side to blend in the colours to really soften up the edge and give you that classy smoked eye. The kit contains a tweezers. The two colours at the bottom are for your eyebrows. The left, darker colour is a wax that shapes the brow and the bright pink on the right should be dabbed in the corner of the eye or under the eye.

If this all sounds a bit much and you have no idea how to do a smokey or have never tried then don’t worry because there is a make up lesson inside the kit. The different products within the kit have been clearly marked out for you aswell (ill pop a picture of that up aswell). If you do go for a makeup lesson, if you are asked if you want to have a go yourself, try it because I did my right eye by myself with some instruction, so they do actually teach you.
It retails at £28.50. I believe that what you are getting is really good for the money because you have so many products all in one kit. The make up I believe is good quality. Also I received 10% discount off!
Really love this product! I think it is very wearable. So far everyone who has seen it really likes it. It may sound very dramatic and out there but it really isn’t. Cannot wait to wear this out tomorrow night! I can honestly say I am no longer worried about creating a smokey eye. Thank you Benefit in Swansea.

Hervana Benefit Blush ... for good Karma ;)

I have to show you all this beautiful box blush by Benefit! It is the prettiest colour pink – it reminds me of pink frosting. Being a Benefit product, its packaging is on the one hand ladylike and on the other hand quirky. Benefit provides you with a small, angled blush brush for blending the blush onto your skin and an inside mirror. However I find this blush more effective when used with a normal blush brush placed on the apple of your cheeks.

The blush itself is nice to the eye. The colours in the box are in a swirl pattern. The colours provided are rosy pink, pink with a purple undertone, a peach colour and a highlight. Blended together surprisingly make a pink frosty colour. The blush has a shimmer to it.

I find this blush won’t fade during the day. Even after a hard 8 hour shift or a full day in university, it will not budge which is fantastic. In comparison to all the other box blushers from Benefit, this is my favourite. It is versatile for day and night look. I recommend it for everyone!

It retails for £23 from any benefit counter. You can get it on their website (check out the link below). If you’re lucky enough to have a pack of Diet Coke cans you can get £5 off Benefit Products, after you spend £20, so bare this in mind as it is for a limited time only.

H&M Lipshine Pots....you have to try them!

I have admit whenever I go to H&M I sometimes brush past the makeup counter they have, and shame on me because it is actually nice! When I went, 2 lipgloss pots immediately took my fancy. These are H&M’s ‘Lipshine’ glosses in the flavours Luscious Peaches and Smooth Vanilla.

The packaging reminds me of a vintage looking tin. The glosses themselves are sheer but have a lovely pearly shine, so it makes a change from glosses that are immensely shiny, therefore making this gloss absolutely perfect to wear during the day. They smell great and taste nice as well (not that you want to eat them of course!).

This gloss is really good value for money as they are only £1.99 a pot! I thoroughly recommend them to anyone.
Smooth Vanilla

....So the next time that you are in H&M stop by their makeup counter because you might find a real gem ;)

Kate by Nails Inc - The Royal Wedding Collection

I have been obsessed with nude coloured nail varnishes for ages. There has only been one that I feel is just brilliant and that is the colour Kate by Nails Inc!

The nail varnish was made by Nails Inc as part of thier Royal Wedding Collection in April 2011. This collection constituted two different colours, Kate and Will (naturally). Nails Inc based the colour Kate on the Engagement Ring of Kate Middleton. As you can see the packaging depicts this as the top is encrusted with Sapire Blue crystals. Will is a very pigmented dep royal Red. The top is also encrusted with diamontes in a pattern of the Union Jack.

The colour of the Kate nail varnish is nude but with a hint of pink, and a glossy finish. Will is a nice dark Red also with a glossy finish. The packaging is amazing (looks good on your dressing table). The colours are nicely pigmented. The Will colour I would say takes one coat, whereas Kate in comparison takes two coats. Being Nails Inc they dry quickly which is brilliant.

As they are a collection piece they are no longer sold by Nails Inc sadly, however there are identical colours available such as Elizabeth Street by Nails Inc (which is slightly more pink but still a great nude colour) and Victoria and Albert by Nails Inc. They are £11 each and available at http://www.nailsinc.com/.

I hope you agree that they are stunning :)
